I wanted to document when you first began to speak.

* Thursday, April 21,2011 (6 months old) you looked at me and said Ma-Ma. Hearing you say these words melted my heart. You had been saying ma-ma for a while but it was never directed at me.

* Saturday, April 30,2011 (6 months old) you looked at your Father and said Da-Da.

* Tuesday,May 3, 2011 (6 months old) you said water (this may have just been a fluke and perfect timing on your part because I have not heard you say water again) and wa-wa when I gave you your water cup.

* Tuesday, May 24, 2011 ( 7 months old) you said ball. We were playing with you orange ball and you looked right at it and said ball.

* Thursday, June 23, 2011 ( 8 months old) you said bye-bye. You even waved bye-bye.

We wanted to share some fun facts about when I was pregnant with you.

When I was first pregnant with you all I wanted to eat was cottage cheese and peaches. This lasted until I was about 12 weeks pregnant.

I ate watermelon all the time. There was even a few times when I would eat an entire mini watermelon to myself.

I was so swollen that I went from a size seven shoe to a size nine. Starting at around my 35th week of pregnancy I wore house shoes that looked like black ballet flats to work. I prayed everyday that my boss would not notice.

I gained 25 pounds with you.

Every time I would be in the car driving around you would fall asleep. You could have been kicking up a storm in my belly before I got in the car and once it started moving you were as calm as you could be.

My belly got so big around the 8th month of pregnancy that your Dad had to help me get dressed in the morning.

When you were in my belly you loved to rest on my right side. Even in all your ultrasound pictures you were as cozy as can be on the right side.

I felt you move for the first time at 15 weeks.

I really enjoyed taking baths when I was pregnant with you. Around the 33rd week your Dad would have to help get me in the bathtub. He would also have to get me out. I am sure it was a sight to see.

I ate a ton of oranges throughout the entire pregnancy.

I wanted to eat artichokes with every meal.

When I would come home from work and you would hear your Dad, you would kick and wiggle.  Every time he talked to the belly you would move so much.

You were a very active baby. It was not often that I would not feel you moving around.

At your 12 week ultrasound you were moving around so much that the tech could not get all the pictures she needed. She tried and tried for a very long time. We finally had to re-schedule our appointment to come back at a later date so she could finish getting the pictures she needed.

To tell your grandparents if you were a boy or a girl we sent them cakes. We told them that if they cut into the cake and it was pink then you were a girl. If they cut into the cake and it was blue then you were a boy.

One of the treats I craved was dark chocolate raisinets.

When I was pregnant with you I could not stand the smell of chicken baking in the oven.

I could not go into the grocery store if they had just made the ready to eat chickens.

Here I am at four months pregnant with you.

Here I am at six months pregnant with you

Here I am at seven months pregnant with you.

I was getting close to being eight months pregnant with you in this picture.

Here I am at nine months pregnant with you.

Being pregnant with you was absolutely wonderful! I enjoyed every moment. I loved just resting my hands on my big belly. I would always be rubbing my tummy. Your father would kiss the belly all the time! I felt like I was the luckiest woman on the planet when I was pregnant with you. I enjoyed watching my belly grow and reading all about your development. It truly was a magical journey. I would not trade a second of being pregnant with you for anything.

I love you, Sophia! I love you with all my heart!
