I am amazed at how quickly this first year has gone. You have brought so much JOY, LOVE, and LAUGHTER in our life and home.

I began planning your First Birthday party way too early. I wanted this to be a HUGE celebration. You are worth celebrating.

I decided on an UNO theme after the card game.

Here are your invitations.

Here is your Thank You card.

Your Mopsy and Pops flew from California to celebrate with you.

Your Great Grandma Sophia and Great Aunt Carmen drive down to help with all the set-up.

All the ladies went to the party site to get everything ready for your guests.

One Year Check Up

Sweet Girl,

We went to your 12 month check up on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. We met with Dr. Andrew at 2:30 pm. You weighed in at 21 lbs 2 ounces. You measured 29 inches long. You are in the fiftieth percentile for your height and weight.

You showed the doctor all the neat things you can do. One of the things you showed him is that you can point out your: Nose, ears, head, hair, tongue, mouth and toes. You showed him how you can drink from a straw. The doctor said that you are doing things that 18 month old babies do. You are advanced and developing wonderfully!

Here are your 12 month pictures.

This has been a wonderful year! My life has changed so much since you were brought into this world. I have never loved like I do now. You put a smile on my face every morning!

Love,

Mom

The neat things you do

I wanted to document all the important mile stones that you accomplish.

On May 6, 2011 ( 6 months old) you stood up for the first time by holding on to your Mopsy.

On August 9, 2011  ( 10 months old) you stood up from a sitting position

On August 23, 2011 ( 10 months old) you took your first two unassisted steps.

First Art Work

You are an artist! Here are some of your masterpieces!

I dreamt and prayed

My love,

I have dreamt of you. I have prayed many prayers for you. I was given the gift of being your mother. I have been blessed with your hugs and smiles. I have been blessed with your kisses and laughter.

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him
1 Samuel 1:27

I dreamt of the day my belly would be rubbed with cold gel so I could see you.

I dreamt of the day I would see you for the first time

I dreamt of the day I would kiss your baby toes.

I dreamt of the day your first picture would be taken

I dreamt of our first Christmas together

I dreamt of shopping with you.

I dreamt of the day I would watch you sleep

I dreamt of kissing your soft skin

I dreamt of taking you for a walk

I dreamt of your smile

I dreamt of you!

Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Love,

Mom

I love you so much

Sophia,

I wanted to write down the lyrics to a song that I am constantly singing you. You love it when I sing this song to you.  You become so cuddly. I treasure each of these moments with you. I know one day you will be too big to sit on my lap. You will be too knowledgeable of what good voices sound like. You will learn that my voice is  not so good. I live for each current moment with you. I cherish each minute and memory I get to have with you.

I love you so  much

I love you so much

I can’t even tell you how much I love you

You are precious to me

You are precious to me

I can’t even tell you how precious you are

You are the love of my life. I am so thankful that God blessed me with you.

Love,

Mom
